TI-85

Features of
the TI-85
Display
Shows 8 lines with 21 characters each or 64 x 128 pixel screen with two
levels of display menus.
Handles complex numbers
Matrices, vectors, lists, and strings.
Programming
Extensive branching, program control, and I/O instructions provided.
Number of programs limited only by available memory.
Memory size
28K bytes of memory available for data and programs.
Constant Memory™
Retains information when calculator is turned off. Automatic Power Down
(APD™) turns calculator off automatically when not in use.
Input/ Output port
Allows linking with TI-85s, TI-86s, CBLs™, CBRs™, and computers.
Calculus
Plot and trace a function with its first and second derivative. Find
maximums, minimums, roots, and inflection points. Evaluate arc lengths
and definite integrals without leaving the graph.
Linear algebra
Work with vectors using cross product, dot product, and norm functions
available on the VECTOR menu. Enter and save real or complex matrices
with dimensions up to 30 x 30.
Differential equations
Solve a system of nine first-order differential equations or one
ninth-order differential equation. Adjust initial conditions and viewing
plane from convenient menus.
Functions
Define, save, and analyze up to 99 functions. Allows polar, parametric,
and function equation entry and editing.
Short cuts
CATALOG lists all functions in one alphabetical menu. Create a custom
menu of most-used functions. Five redefinable menu keys provide access
to hundreds of operations without cluttering the keyboard.
Equation solver
Solve equations interactively for different variables. Great for "what
ifs."
Solve up to 30 simultaneous equations. Find roots of a polynomial up to
the 30th order.
